Jeanie creates award-winning work for cinema and television, telling intimate stories to international audiences.
She has made films for HBO, IFC, and four BBC Storyvilles. Including; SheffDocFest audience award winner Your Fat Friend, BIFA nominated Seahorse, Emmy nominated Game Of Thrones: The Last Watch, BIFA nominated The Great Hip Hop Hoax & BIFA winning Orion:The Man Who Would Be King as well as one of the very first crowdfunded films in the UK; SOUND IT OUT.
Jeanie received a 2023 Chicken & Egg award, was awarded an honorary doctorate by Nottingham Trent University and an inspiration award by Sheff Doc Fest.
Her work has been showcased in retrospectives at Museum of Moving Image NYC, True Story, BFI Player and Criterion Collection – People Person: Documentaries by Jeanie Finlay.
Her production company Glimmer Films is based at Broadway Cinema.
Currently making her tenth feature.
